Louisville Lacrosse Coach Gives Free Clinic

Coach Lisa Staedt of University of Louisville took some time to give a free coaches clinic at Carmel High School for persons interested in girl’s lacrosse. Attendees included high school and middle school coaches along with several interested parents. Lacrosse has been touted as the next soccer phenomenon and with growth expected to explode over the next couple of years it is quickly outstripping the available coaching and umpiring ranks. The clinic which was two hours long covered both offense and defense each in its own time slot. Offense was first and defense took up the second hour. For the hour of offense Coach Staedt covered basic techniques on cradling, passing and drills which will provide the emphasis on needed skills. The second half of the clinic was devoted to defense and included drills, positioning and how and when to check a player’s stick. All of the information was excellent and well prepared. We appreciate Coach Staedt and look forward to learning from her in the future. The University of Louisville has several clinics year round. The easiest and most affordable ones are the day clinics. They are given on one day and there is one for each part of the game. Offense, defense, transition and coaching. You can find more information including date and costs at: University of Louisville Women’s Lacrosse.
